These general conditions of sale of the company The Optical Factory Ltd define the rights and obligations of the parties, hereinafter referred to as “Customer” on the one hand and on the other The Optical Factory, hereinafter referred to as “the website” through the sale of products and services to customers via the website theopticalfactory.co.uk.
The customer declares to have read these terms and conditions of sale and accept the rights and obligations pertaining thereto. Any order made on the Website is governed by these terms.
These general conditions of sale apply without restriction or qualification to all sales concluded by The Optical Factory from a retail client wishing to purchase products offered for sale. These conditions relate exclusively to the non-commercial individuals.
The Optical Factory Ltd and customers agree that their relations will be governed exclusively by this contract.
The Customer warrants that he/she is fully entitled to use the supplied credit/debit card for payment of his/her order and this card gives access to sufficient funds to cover all costs resulting from the use of The Optical Factory Ltd products.
A free quotation is supplied to the customer in the form of a summary of the order showing complete product/service descriptions and corresponding prices. The client accepts this quotation in accordance with legal provisions, by clicking on the payment authorisation button. The order will be final only after the authorisation of payment.
This validation is an electronic signature which has, among The Optical Factory Ltd and customers, the same value as a handwritten signature and is proof of the entire order and payment due pursuant to that order, as well as accepting full and unconditional acceptance of the entirety of these general conditions of sale.
Delivery & Carriage
All UK deliveries will be sent via a free “signed for” service. In most instances where glasses are ordered with prescriptions lenses your purchase will be despatched within 3-10 working days (Mon-Fri). In the case of specialist lenses (e.g. Tag Heuer) which are manufactured by individual designers, these will normally take 7-14 working days to despatch. Frames only or non-prescription sunglasses will normally be despatched within 1-3 working days.
You will be notified by email at the time your goods are despatched.
If your goods are not delivered safely within a reasonable number of days of you receiving notification of despatch, you should contact us. Customers should promptly inspect goods delivered to them to satisfy themselves that any goods delivered to them are as expected.
In the case of non delivery, if either The Optical Factory Ltd or our courier is at fault, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or re-delivery.
Tax Charges
VAT will be charged at the standard rate of 20% and will be included on all orders.
Credit Card Security
All credit and debit card transactions are protected using 128 bit encryption from GeoTrust.
Your credit or debit card details are not stored following the online transaction. We simply retain an authorisation code from your card issuer.
What we do about mispricings.
Despite our best efforts, there remains the possibility that catalogue items may be inadvertently mispriced. However, we do verify our prices as part of our despatch procedure. If an item’s correct price is lower than our stated price, we will charge the lower amount and send you the item. If a product’s correct price is higher than our stated price, we will cancel your order and notify you of that cancellation.
